Gratitude

What is Gratitude? Why is it important?
Gratitude is defined as appreciation, giving thanks, gratefulness,
acknowledgement, respect etc.
Gratitude is important in every aspect of our lives.
sometimes we say, the attitude of gratitude.
If someone does a job for you or shows you a favor and you
fail to appreciate them, you will be looked upon as ungrateful or rude.
It is said, when you appreciate someone for a job well-done, they are motivated to do more good.
It is good to cultivate the attitude of gratitude
What Are You Grateful for?
I am so grateful to God almighty for his presence in my life.
For salvation, I am grateful that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
If not for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to save us fro sin and eternal damnation.
we would have been of all men most miserable as Paul puts it in 1Cor 15:19.
Because Jesus died and resurrected, we have the hope of eternal life with him in heaven

I give God the praise for the gift of life, the air we breath in,
for the gift of family and friends.
I am grateful to God for good health., for the supply of our daily bread.
How are many people are starving around the world, yet God provides for us.
So many people are out of jobs, have no regular income, some are begging for their daily sustenance, some lost their homes and have no fixed place of abode, yet some who have jobs are complaining of how hard it is and threatening to quit.
The Israelite of old murmured and complained against God in the wilderness and as a result they spent longer time than they should have and in the process, so many of them died before they got to the promised land.
So many time in my line of duty, I have come across some individuals,
while interacting with them, I will get a prompting to witness to them.
On most occasions I would start with a simple question like,
what is your relationship with God?
I must say on a few occasions I was shocked by the answer I got.
One instance was a young beautiful lady, she looked very quite and innocent, that you would conclude immediately that surely she must be a devoted christian, but it was so unfortunate that she told me that she was actually angry with God.  I couldn't believe what I heard, it was then I realized why I was prompted to ask her the question.
We spent some time together and I ministered to her.
The enemy of our souls has a way of deceiving people and making them blame God for their problems, so that they are unable to acknowledge and appreciate the goodness of God in their lives.
Our God is a good God, he is awesome! He deserves all our Praise, worship and adoration.
Make the time today to say, thank you ABBA father, thank you Lord Jesus Christ and thank you Holy Spirit.
Be grateful for life, once there is life, there is hope.
Be grateful for health even if you don't feel a hundred percent(100%) in your body.
God is not the Author of sickness and disease, it is satan but he would want you to believe otherwise.
God is our healer, the miracle maker.
Be thankful for your family even if they are giving you tough time, no one is perfect.
Be grateful for God's provisions no matter how small or big.
There are so many things to be grateful for.
Do not be angry with God almighty, please.
God bless you as you draw closer to him through your attitude of gratitude.

Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 KJV.

There have been questions, arguments, debates and discussions surrounding the time of the actual birth of Jesus Christ.
Whatever the case may be, we believe he was born, he died for us to set us free from sin, but most importantly, he rose from the dead. If he did not rise from the dead, our faith would have been in vain, but thank God, the Father who raised him up.

Today all over the world the birth of Jesus Christ is being celebrated by people of different religions both those who understand and believe in him and those who do not.

Many see it as a season of making money with their merchandise as others indulge in purchasing and sharing of gifts.
Is there anything wrong with the celebration, whether he was on Christmas day or not?

The problem I have personally is the way things are conducted. Many people leave their house cleaning and decorations until Christmas. Some do not care about the poor and needy until Christmas. So the less privileged among us can suffer all year round and only receive whatever we deem good for them at Christmas time, that's once a year. Yet we ask God to give us our daily bread, whenever we pray.
We are put in this world to be a blessing with the blessing we have been given, all year round not only during Christmas season or any other festivities.

This season of Christmas, whether we believe in celebrating it or not should be used for evangelism, this is of course my opinion.
It should be a time of enlightenment to others who are deep into the celebration without understanding who Jesus Christ is, why he was born, why he is being celebrated and why he deserves to be celebrated.

Does it mean that we should not evangelize all year round?
No! but we should intensify our efforts during this season due to the intensity of the preparations involved.
We have been given the great Commission in
Matt 28 :18.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

We must not to forget that salvation only comes from God, no one comes to Jesus except the father draws him. The gospel John is clear about this,

"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day". Jn 6 :44.

Our duty is to preach the gospel. Conviction and repentance is from God himself through the power of the Holy Spirit.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. Remember who is the subject of this celebration and make him known by spreading the good news of the Kingdom of God through salvation that only comes from Jesus Christ.
God bless you.
Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year, 2019 in advance.

Give thanks to the Lord

O give thanks unto the Lord ; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of Lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalms 136:1‭-‬5 KJV.

Have you taken time today to give God thanks?
Are you waiting for a mighty breakthrough before you thank him?
Give God thanks now even for the gift of life, for the air you breathe, for your loved ones, for so many things he has done big and small. Give God thanks for he deserves it.
Giving thanks to God is not only for the day of Thanksgiving, it should be done always, there is always reason to thank God. In good times and in bad times, give him thanks and Praise.
Instead of blaming him for our failures and short comings or murmuring and complaining against God, purpose in your heart to Praise, worship and thank him instead. May you be blessed as you do so today and always.
Have a blessed day in Jesus mighty name.

Prayer

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12 KJV.

This verse is important to me because many times we see things happening or we hear of things happening and we are tempted to jump into action immediately and we become emotional, some things might need immediate intervention but others may need some reflection, deep thinking before springing into action.
If we know the type of enemy we are dealing with and understand his strategies then we will be in a better position to plan our own counter attack or confrontation as the case may be.
The above verse says, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers....., it is worth knowing that these principalities and powers are invisible to the naked eyes, it is a spiritual warfare, it is not a fist fight, this type of fight is best fought on our knees on a daily basis.

When Jesus walked the earth, he spent most of his time praying to the father. He did not wait until he was confronted with a problem before he prayed. He did not wait until he saw a blind man or a leper and say wait let me go and pray first and come back to heal you, No! He was always in prayer, always communicating with the Father and as a result he was endured with power in every area of his life and ministry and performed great signs and wonders.
Why are we not seeing greater works that Jesus talked about in John 14: 12?

Because our prayer lives are lacking fire and anointing, and consistency. We are on fire today, we achieve victory over the enemy and we relax tomorrow celebrating one victory and the enemy in his subtility comes back with vengeance. Read Luke 11:26

A lot of Christians wait until problem arises before they remember to pray, some don't even remember to pray until they have complained and gotten tired of complaining or until someone tells them to pray about it.

Prayer is the key to success, it's the key that opens doors locked by the enemy, it is the key that breaks barriers and moves mountains.
Prayer is the key that destroys sickness and disease.
Prayer is a powerful tool that the father has given us through his son Jesus Christ.

I don't know what your prayer life is like today. Perhaps it's time for an upgrade. Try being consistent, as Paul said in,
1 Thess 5:17 "Pray without ceasing".

Try combining prayer with fasting, if you're not doing that already.
Resist the devil through prayer and he will flee, James 4:7. After you submit yourself to God.

Remember our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our great example, fasted forty days and forty nights.
Murmuring and complaining will not get us any where.
Go on your knees today, repent of your sins and cry out to God almighty. He is waiting to hear from you.

God bless you in Jesus mighty name.

We are saved by grace.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 KJV.

Yes, we are saved by grace, not by our hard work,  not by our righteousness, not because we are so good or so holy.
Isaiah 64:6 says, our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.

We are saved simply by the grace of almighty God,  who saw our wretchedness in sin and had compassion on us and sent his only begotten son,  Jesus Christ who knew no sin, to leave his glorious throne in heaven and come down to earth to die for us.

Jesus Christ obeyed his father and came to save us. He endured all kinds of insults and abuse, false accusations, torments and stripes in order to save us. He never boasted of his position in heaven with the father, he was humble all through unto death. Phil 2:5-8.

None of us should boast of anything.
None of us should brag about anything.
We came into this world with nothing and when we die, we are taking nothing with us. Eccl 5:15. Job 1: 21.

We need to humble ourselves as we are told in 1Pt 5:6.

We need to surrender all we are, all we have,  all we think we have achieved unto God almighty.
Every good thing we have is from God, so what is the need for boasting or bragging.
Even the air we  breathe is from God,  the ability to wake up every time is from God,  the day he says it's over, there and then it ends.
Then we must give account to him, the all seeing and the all knowing God, from whom nothing is hidden and there will be no hiding place.

Are you ready to meet him?
So take time today and for the rest of your life to give God Praise, worship and adoration in Jesus mighty name.

God deserves all our Praise,  honor, worship adoration and thanksgiving.

If you are not doing that already, start from today and make it a habit to worship God in Spirit and in truth.
God bless you.
